Was this picture made with ChatGPT?
Upload the image. If the file still carries OpenAI's signed Content Credentials we show them as proof. If not, our image model looks at the picture.

OpenAI signs its images
Images made with ChatGPT and DALL-E come with Content Credentials: a signed record that says OpenAI's tools made them. When the file still has it, we check the signature and show it.
Screenshots, crops and most social apps strip that record, so many ChatGPT images you meet online don't have it any more.
When the record is gone
Then the picture itself has to give it away. Our image model is tuned on images from current generators, ChatGPT's among them, and on photos from today's phones, so that real photos rarely read as AI. Our test results show how often it catches each generator.
More on what we check, where it can go wrong and what happens to your file: how it works.

How can I tell if an image was made by ChatGPT?
Check it here first: a ChatGPT file with its Content Credentials is confirmed. Without them, look for text that doesn't quite read, hands, repeated patterns, and an overall too-clean look, and treat our model's verdict as evidence, not proof.
Does a screenshot of a ChatGPT image still work?
The signed record is gone in a screenshot, but the picture can still be judged. Use the original file if you can: it gives the clearest answer.
