Was this made with Sora?

Upload the video or paste its link. If the file still carries Sora's signature we show it as proof. If it doesn't, two AI models look at the picture.

Sora signs its videos

OpenAI attaches Content Credentials to videos made with Sora: a signed record that says the video came from OpenAI's tools. Sora videos also carry a visible watermark, which people often crop out.

We read that record and check its signature. When it's there, the verdict says so, with OpenAI as the signer. In our tests every original Sora file we downloaded still had it.

When the signature is gone

Re-uploading to TikTok, Instagram or X, or screen recording, removes the record. Then we judge from the picture, like any other video. Sora is one of the generators our models are tested on, but a judgement from the picture is never proof, and a re-upload weakens it.

More on what we check, where it can go wrong and what happens to your file: how it works.

How do I know if a video was made with Sora?

Check it here: a Sora file that still has its Content Credentials is confirmed as made with OpenAI's tools. Also look for the Sora watermark, which moves around the frame, and for a cropped or blurred spot where it was removed.

Can someone remove Sora's Content Credentials?

Yes. Re-encoding, re-uploading or screen recording drops them. That's why a missing signature proves nothing, and we look at the picture too.

Does this work for Veo and Runway too?

Yes. Runway signs its files, and so do most Veo files in our tests; we show the signer the same way.
