Google signs most Veo files

In our tests, most original Veo 3 files carried Content Credentials naming Google's tools. Google also hides an invisible SynthID watermark in Veo videos, which only Google's own tools can read.

Downloads from social apps usually lose the Content Credentials, and then the picture has to do the work.

Veo is one of the hard ones

Veo 3 makes some of the most convincing video around, with sound. Our models catch some Veo clips from the picture alone and miss others; our test results show how often. When the evidence is mixed we say Inconclusive.

How do I know if a video was made with Veo 3?

Check the original file here: Content Credentials confirm it. Veo videos from Google's own apps also carry a small visible watermark in the corner, which people often crop out.

Can you read SynthID?

No. SynthID can only be checked with Google's tools. We read Content Credentials, which most Veo files also carry.
