Is this a real person?
Is this a real person or AI?
Upload a photo of a face and see whether it looks AI-made, with the reasons. Dating profiles, marketplace sellers and hiring photos are where this question comes up, and the answer is evidence about the picture, not proof about the person.

What the check answers
It answers one question: does this picture look made by AI? It reads the file labels and signed records, then judges the picture itself, and shows what it found.
It does not promise identity. It cannot tell you the person real life name or that the photo is recent. It tells you whether the face in front of you looks generated, which is the question most people actually have.
Where it helps
On dating apps, a profile with a too-perfect face is worth a second look. On marketplaces, a seller photo can be AI. In hiring, a candidate photo can be a generated headshot. In all three, the check gives you evidence rather than a vibe.
For a profile picture that looks generated, the verdict is often Very likely AI, and the reasons show what tipped it: no camera details, a label from the tool, or the smooth, clean look a model produces.
Why a real person can read as AI
A real person whose photo was edited, filtered or enhanced can read as AI, because a filter smooths skin and cleans edges the way a generator does. We say so rather than pretend the verdict is certain.
When the signal is weak, you see Inconclusive. For a face check, that honest middle answer is more useful than a bold guess.

Does it tell me who the person is?
No. It answers whether the picture looks AI-made, not who the person is. A real person whose photo was edited can read as AI, so treat the verdict as evidence about the image.
Can a real person photo read as AI?
Yes. Filters and edits smooth skin and clean edges the way generators do, so an edited real photo can read as AI. When the signal is weak you see Inconclusive rather than a guess.
Does it catch AI profile pictures?
That is exactly what it is for. Upload the profile picture and it reads the file labels and judges the face. Generated profile pictures often come back Very likely AI, with the reasons shown.
How accurate is it on faces?
Our test results page lists how often real photos come back as AI and how often AI photos are caught, with the number of files behind each number. Faces are photos, so those rates apply. See the test results
